Neuro Kids
Small steps on court. Skills for life.
Tennis, play, and discovery for children ages 3–10
Neuro Kids brings together tennis and playful cognitive activities to help children explore movement, build confidence, and practice skills they can use on and off the court.
Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or already enjoys the game, our approach makes learning engaging, encouraging, and appropriate for their stage of development. No previous tennis experience is needed.
More than learning a sport
Tennis gives children opportunities to make decisions, manage frustration, cooperate with others, and keep trying when something feels difficult. We combine these experiences with age-appropriate games that give children practice in:
Attention and listening: Following instructions, noticing cues, and staying involved in an activity.
Coordination and movement: Exploring balance, footwork, hand-eye coordination, and ball skills.
Decision-making: Choosing a response, solving simple challenges, and adapting when a game changes.
Self-regulation: Practicing turn-taking, pausing before acting, and responding to mistakes.
Confidence and independence: Trying unfamiliar activities, making choices, and recognizing progress.
Social skills: Communicating, sharing, cooperating, and showing respect for others.
These skills are practiced through play, with encouragement to use them in everyday situations.
What does a session look like?
Sessions combine introductory tennis with movement challenges and cognitive games. Children might follow a color cue to find a target, remember a short movement sequence, take turns in a rally, or adapt to a new game rule.
Activities are adjusted to each child’s age, experience, and comfort level, with manageable challenges and opportunities to succeed.
Learning at their own pace
Ages 3–5 | Explore and play
An introduction to rackets, balls, and movement through imaginative games. Activities emphasize simple instructions, coordination, turn-taking, and enjoyment.
Ages 6–8 | Build and discover
Foundational tennis skills alongside games that involve attention, cooperation, problem-solving, and adapting to changing rules.
Ages 9–10 | Apply and grow
Developing tennis technique and simple tactics while practicing independence, goal-setting, teamwork, and handling challenges constructively.
Tennis and beyond
For children who enjoy variety, Neuro Kids also offers playful cognitive and movement activities beyond tennis. These can include reaction games, balance challenges, memory sequences, and cooperative tasks.
The aim is to create an enjoyable space where children can move, think, connect, and learn.
An approach informed by neuroscience
Our activities draw on principles of learning and child development, including repetition, clear feedback, appropriate challenge, and active participation. We focus on observable progress in the activities children practice, recognizing that every child develops differently.
Neuro Kids is an educational sports and enrichment program. It does not provide clinical assessment or treatment.
